Nancy Brown Barrett, 69, of Mooresville, died May 1, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center. She was born on March 13, 1944 in Burke County to the late Clyde and Catherine Brown. Survivors include her husband Bill; daughter, Wend Read Obituary
I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3,4…states “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death.

I was so sorry to hear the news about Nancy. What a precious lady she was. I loved her bubbly personality. My prayers are with you through this sad time. I know God will give you peace, comfort, and strength as yiu go through this.

Mrs. Barrett had such a zest for life which overflowed into her teaching. She will always be remembered for making learning fun. Even when you met her in the hallway on the way to class she had such a big smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. We will never know the number of the lifes she touched. Goodnight Mrs. Barrett, we will meet you again on the beautiful shore
We are blessed to have had the privilage of being in Mrs. Barrett's classroom. She was a loving, committed and gifted educator. Thank you for sharing her with us. You are in our hearts and prayers.
Mrs. Barrett was not only my senior English teacher but I feel lucky to have had her in middle school. Always such an amazing lady brought a smile to everyone. I only wished that my children would have been able to have her as a teacher. My thoughs and prayer are with Bill, Wendy, Craig & Twain. Heaven has certainly gained an an amazing lady.
Mrs. Barrett was an amazing person, teacher and mentor. It was a joy to be in her presence.
Mrs Barrett was my senior english teacher in 1988. I really enjoyed her class and I am sorry to hear about her passing. Please remember she is now in a better place and we all will see her one day. Pleas know your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. Barrett was an amazing Honor's English teacher. I loved her class and am proud to say she was an inspiration to me. I just know she'd be proud of me for loving to teach Reading/English :) She was the sponsor to many of our clubs and student activities. May God bless her family and comfort them during this sad time.
