Nancy Elsmore's Obituary
Nancy Catherine Jenkins Elsmore, 89, of Davidson died September 26 at her home. She was born on May 14, 1936 in Statesville to the late Flake and Catherine Jenkins.
Known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren, Nancy was renowned for her cooking ability and way about a kitchen; holiday meals, Sunday dinners, BBQ ribs, and homemade rolls were her specialty. She enjoyed a robust life outside the home too, never missing her daily morning walks, visits to the YMCA, playing bridge with friends, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Additionally, she was a patron of the theater, enjoying works of the stage from Charlotte to New York City. Nancy was firm in her faith, drawing much from her fellowship with DUMC throughout her time in Davidson.
She is preceded in death by her husband James L. Elsmore, Sr. and is survived by her sons James Jr. and Michael Elsmore (Daisy Jane); daughter Cathy Wiese (John), all of Davidson; siblings Frank and Helen, and 3 beloved grandchildren; Perry, Sarah and Landon Wiese.
Memorials may be made to Breakthrough T1D, PO Box 5042, Hagerstown , MD 21741-5042
A private graveside will be held at the Davidson U.M.C. columbarium.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
