Nancy Lea Fritz's Obituary
Nancy Lea Fritz, 68, of Cornelius, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday evening November 10, 2025, at Novant Huntersville Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She fought breast cancer in 2021 and endured a sudden brief battle with lung cancer this fall. Nancy was a believer in God the Father, our creator and his son Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy is the youngest child of Virginia Fritz, 97, Columbia, South Carolina and the late Wilferd Fritz. She was the beloved sister of John Fritz and wife Amy of Mint Hill, North Carolina, and Judy Fritz Arrendale and husband Del of Blythewood, South Carolina. Nancy was delighted to be known as Aunty Nancy to niece and nephews Ginni, Nick and Chris Fritz, plus Andrew and Austin Arrendale. Even better, Nancy was a great-aunt to Oliver, Amelia and Claire Fritz, and to Daniel and Calvin Arrendale. Nancy is survived by her lifelong friend Gail Fink of Orlando, Florida and close local friend, Julie Bromley.
Nancy’s school years took place in Orlando, Florida until moving to Northbrook, Illinois during high school. She attended college at University of Miami and finished up at University of Central Florida where she majored in business and marketing. She went on to build a successful career in Orlando with Bell South selling yellow pages advertising and General Homes selling homes. Nancy especially loved the family Christmas white elephant gift exchange, scary movies and jewelry with plenty of bling. She was a supporter of the American Red Cross, a devoted Carolina Panthers fan and had been an avid collector of Beanie Babies.
Nancy will be remembered for her quick dimpled smile, her love of good times, her emphatic opinions on many subjects and preparing the holiday curried lima bean casserole. Nancy was a cat lover her whole life, successfully convincing her parents while young to finally add a kitten to their human household.
A private memorial service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at James Funeral Home in the near future.
