Nancy Jackson's Obituary
Nancy Jackson, age 87, of Denver, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, while in the care of Abernathy Laurels of Newton, NC, holding the hand of her best friend and daughter, Andrea. Nancy was born on June 27, 1938, in Baltimore MD, to William and Virginia (Flautt) Kaufholz. She was married to the late Andrew Jackson III for 62 years until his death on December 30, 2021.
Our mom Nancy. Her life began when she met and married the love of her life our dad, Andrew Jackson III. They made a great couple, and, in that 62-year relationship, Nancy discovered her true calling in life, being a mom. She was an amazing mother. She did whatever it took to raise three kids loving
cheer us on at every game, make sure we had everything ready for school, and make every hurt feel better. Later she would cry all the way home after dropping us off at college. Nancy was a fierce cheerleader for her children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren. In everything we did she offered support and guidance. Smart, funny, and feisty are some of the adjectives we would use to describe her–-as well as gentle, kind and a good listener. Someone once said, "Life doesn't come with a manual, it comes with a mother.” She will be greatly missed especially at all the milestones of our lives, but we know she will be with us always.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Jack. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Drew Jackson and his wife Mabry Ann, her son Greg Jackson and his wife Polly, her daughter Andea Barei and her husband Thomas, her grandchildren, Ian Jackson (Lauren), Taylor Jackson, Graham Jackson (Virginia), Austin Jackson (Allison), Kelsey Burgess (Matt), Jackson Barei and her great-grandchildren Noelle and Shepherd.
Services for Nancy will be private at a future date.
Arrangements are in the care of James Funeral Home of Huntersville.
