Nancy Mancuso's Obituary
Nancy Mary (Gattuso) Mancuso, 85, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, with her family’s love close around her. She was born on December 12, 1939, in North Adams, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Vincent and Beatrice (Plante) Gattuso.
Nancy grew up in North Adams with her sisters, Maryanne (Gattuso) Laveriere (Michael Laveriere), and the late Valerie (Gattuso) King. She graduated from Drury Senior High School and spent many years working in the North Adams Public School System. She also worked at General Electric and Berkshire Community College.
On May 4, 1963, Nancy married Ronald Mancuso, and they shared 56 years together until his passing in 2019. They lived in North Adams where they raised their two daughters, Anne-Marie and Terri, and later in Cheshire, Massachusetts where Nancy served as the town’s selectmen’s assistant.
After retiring, Nancy and Ron moved to the Charlotte, North Carolina area to be closer to family. Together, they enjoyed a post-retirement job as ushers at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center for twelve years. Nancy also volunteered at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, where she welcomed and assisted visitors and patients.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Anne-Marie M. Craig (Brian T. Craig) of Mooresville, NC, and Terri A. Lockwood (Neil D. Lockwood) of Huntersville, NC; and by her grandchildren, Kevin A. Craig of New York, NY; David S. Lockwood of Huntersville, NC; and Ashley M. Lockwood of Huntersville, NC. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, pursuing creative projects and, most of all, spending time with her family. A mass will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 5 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blood Cancer United.
