Nancy "Carolyn" McGuire's Obituary
Nancy Carolyn McElveen McGuire, 77 of Concord left this world in the arms of her husband Harold on December 17, 2024. She was born on June 2, 1947, in Savannah, Georgia to the late Clarence and Rosalie McElveen. Carolyn was also preceded in death by three of her sisters Dot, Betty, and Mary.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 57 years Harold Gene McGuire and her three children: Sarah McGuire Bullock, Becky Helms (Shane), and Clay McGuire. Three grandchildren also survive her: Adam Bullock, Sophia McGuire, and Olivia Ponce. Two sisters and many nieces, nephews, and cousins will also greatly miss Carolyn.
Carolyn was the youngest of six loving, funny, strong sisters. She was an amazing homemaker who never wanted anything more than to see her husband, children and grandchildren happy and healthy. She was known and loved for her smile, her cooking, and her welcoming spirit. We are all so blessed to have had Carolyn in our lives for as long as we did. She was a shining example of how a Christian and a human should live—forgiving, humble, and nonjudgmental.
Some of the pleasures in life that Carolyn enjoyed most were cooking for everyone, gardening, watching the birds around her birdfeeders, listening to country/bluegrass music, and traveling across the country. All these activities she enjoyed with her husband Harold who she always called “the best man ever.” Carolyn loved her children and grandchildren dearly and always made their happiness a priority in her life. She also loved her church family and friends. Carolyn’s faith was of upmost importance to her and was the reason for her peace in life.
