Ned Chavers' Obituary
Ned Delano Chavers, 84, of Stanley died January 23, 2019 at his home. He was born in Mecklenburg County on August 6, 1934 to the late Charlie and Mabel Chavers. He served in the US Army in Germany and retired from Duke Energy as a manager. He was a lifetime member of Thrift U.M.C. His greatest loves were his family, working in his yard and vacationing with the family at the beach.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Cross and husband Keith of Huntersville; brother, Bill Chavers of Mt. Holly; grandchildren, Justin Cross, Cameron King and husband Brandon, and Seth Cross and great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Emerson. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Blythe Chavers and son Jeffery Ned Chavers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thrift U.M.C., 8245 Moores Chapel Rd. Charlotte, NC 28214.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, January 27 in the chapel of James Funeral Home with Rev. Charles DiRico officiating. Visitation will be 2-3 PM prior. Burial will follow at Gilead A.R.P. Church.
