Nedra Laffoon's Obituary
Mrs. Nedra Henry Laffoon, 73, of Huntersville, NC passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Nedra was born in Birmingham, AL and grew up in various parts of the state. She retired from a successful career in pensions administration where she regularly leveraged her keen mind, hard work ethic, Pentel Sharp 0.9 mm Mechanical Pencil, and HP-12C Calculator. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Ever present, loyal, and faithful to all in her family and those around her. She was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ that tirelessly demonstrated humility, self-sacrifice, and service. Her clever sense of humor and love of gift giving made family events both special and full of laughter. Nedra will be greatly missed by her family, but they rejoice in knowing she is in her eternal home.
Nedra was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ronald Ky Laffoon Sr.; her father John L. Henry and mother Jane Henry; her brother Gregory Wade Henry and sister Pamela Henry; her aunt Virginia Graves; as well as stepchildren Tami Rene Laffoon and Ronald Ky Laffoon Jr.
Nedra is survived by her children: John Michael Laffoon (Sara Keys) of Concord, NC, Matthew Gregory Laffoon (Samantha) of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren Hannah, Claire, Grace, Luke, Lincoln and May. Stepfamily members: daughters Kim Laffoon and Cathy Laffoon of Panama City Beach, FL; daughter-in-law Mona Laffoon of Lynn Haven, FL; grandchildren William (Tabitha), Nikki, Brooke (Derek), Heather, Sara, Katy, and Baylee; great grandchildren Elizabeth and Abigail. As well as many loved friends and pets.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024, at NorthLake Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow at nearby family’s home.
