Ngook Yeh's Obituary
Ngook Lian Yeh age, 59 departed this life on March 11, 2023, at her residence.
She was born February 22, 1964, in Rangoon Burma to Choi Soon Ham and Yeong Tay Yeh. She immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1973. She graduated from South High school in Salt Lake City then subsequently received her Bachelors degree in Finance from Utah State University. Ngook spent her post college years in Maryland working in the Financial Industries where she met her future husband. After spending time in San Francisco, she returned to Maryland and then finally settled in Charlotte. It was in Charlotte where she lived with her husband and son, working a multitude of jobs; the most recent being a Burmese interpreter for social services serving refugee families of Burmese origin.
Ngook leaves behind cherished memories of her loving husband Harry Joseph and son, Christian Tay Joseph, two sisters Oie Lian Yeh, of San Jose, CA and Klew Lian Mori of Salt Lake City Utah; two brothers Que (Sally) Yeh, Eng (Holly) Yeh and her father, Yeong Tay Yeh all of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Samuel (Paula) Joseph, John M. (Michelle) Joseph, H. Daniel (Trisha) Joseph; sisters-in-Law, Yorvolle Casimir, Irlande (Ronsat) Philippeaux, Sherley (David) Roper; mother-in-law Sonia Joseph and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her very large Christian family.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Ngook loved to shop for “deals” around Charlotte and beyond. She also enjoyed eating out at her favorite restaurants (and they were quite a few). If you’re thinking she bought a lot of stuff and ate well; you would be right on both counts. However, during the shopping and eating adventures, she also got to connect with people (staff and patrons) and purposefully try to identify their dreams and/or challenges; so that she could play a part in meeting those needs in the moment or, at least, made them feel important in that moment. In so doing, developed many real and sometimes lasting relationships. She also developed these lasting relationships even while undergoing chemo treatments with her cancer survivor buddies as well as with some special members of the Stonebridge family.
All who knew Ngook knew her for her kindness, generosity and her devotion to her family and friends. She never met a stranger nor did she ever miss an opportunity to let people know what God has done for her. By God’s grace, she was true to her nature.
