Nicholas Archila's Obituary
Nicholas "Nick" Archila, 73, of Huntersville died September 19, 2022 at his home. He was born on December 30, 1948 in Bogota, Colombia to the late Luis Alberto Archila and Lily Dorantes Archila.
It’s impossible to put into just a few words what he meant to everyone who encountered him. He wore many coats. To his daughters he was their Papi, which many grew to know him as, to his wife he was Mijito, to his siblings Hermano, to his family Uncle Nicky and Tío Nico, and to his students Mr. Nick. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix, earning him the nickname Mr.FixIt. To his wife and daughters, they were his Reinas (queens).
Survivors include his wife Julie Nowak Tucker Archila; daughters, Millie Archila Joensen and husband Daniel of Huntersville and Lily Nicole Franco and husband James of Shelby; siblings, Marcos, Hector, Manuel, Fernando, Luigi and Sofia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to Lake Forest Church-Huntersville Benevolence.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Lake Forest Church-Huntersville on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Visitation will follow. The family requests rather than black, that the colors yellow, blue, and red be worn in honor of his Colombian heritage.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
