My husband and I met Bruce and Carol at a historical time in our country. In March 2020 a Covid-19 pandemic was declared and a State of emergency was put in place. My Mom and Bruce were receiving care in Autumn Care of Cornelius, a skilled care and rehab facility. Their rooms were next to each other.
Covid restrictions prevented in house visitations. Both our families met and visited multiple times each day at their windows. Those visits and the experiences we shared brought us close. We never loss touch with each other and remained supportive during our journeys. True friendship and fellowship.
Sam and I will always remember Bruce’s quiet strength and love of God, family and our country. Carol was definitely Bruce’s help mate and dedicated to their union as husband and wife. Their love for each other was and will remain beautiful.💕

I loved visiting Bruce and Carol. My favorite memory of visiting Bruce was the time I brought him a bag of Pepperidge Farm cookies. He was in his recliner so I sat them beside him, thinking he’d eat a couple. I went over a little later and the whole bag was gone!! So from then on, I always made sure I brought those cookies when I came to visit. (I think he liked them!!!)
My deepest condolences to both you Auntie Carol and cousin Shelly. Uncle Bruce lived a long life and I was blessed to grow up with him being part of my life. Again from the bottom of my heart I'm so sorry for the loss. Love you guys
