Novella Hall's Obituary
Novella Mildred Hall (“Noey”), 80, of Cornelius, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends.
Noey was born October 27, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, the younger of two children born to the late Thomas and Ethel Hendricks. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Noey was a longtime resident of St. Louis, where she enjoyed a 30-year career with Prudential Insurance Company.
Novella had a lot of hobbies. She was a talented painter, enjoying both tole painting and water colors, and was an excellent bowler, once bowling a perfect game. She was also an avid shopper and a firm believer that buying something in both colors was better than having to choose between the two. She loved music and dancing, playing Uno, Bridge and Bingo and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a devout Cardinals baseball fan until the end. While Noey excelled at many things, driving was not one of them, and she will be lovingly remembered for her many terrifying yet hilarious adventures behind the wheel, whether it be a motorcycle, golf cart, van or sedan.
Affectionately nicknamed “Zaza” as a child, she will mostly be remembered for her free spirit and youthful attitude, as well as for the kindness, loyalty and unconditional love that she exhibited towards her friends and family alike.
Noey is preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Ed” Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Patti Wallace and husband, Rusty of Cornelius; grandchildren, Greg, Katie and Steve Wallace; great grandchildren Ian, Caroline and Olivia Wallace; and her beloved service dog, Raven.
A service to celebrate the life of Novella Hall will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, in the chapel of James Funeral Home in Huntersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
Noey will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
