Oliver Johnston's Obituary
Oliver Lloyd Johnston, 89, of Huntersville died November 8, 2013 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1924 in Mecklenburg County to the late Loyd Wilson and Bessie Head Johnston. He was an Aviation Machinist’s Mate, Third Class in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Cabot during WWII, serving in the Pacific Arena. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church-Huntersville and a contributing founder of the East Huntersville Mission. He retired from Pneumafil Corp after 35 years of employment.
His wife Annie Lovejoy Cromer preceded him in death. Survivors include his son Oliver Lloyd Johnston, Jr. and wife Dianne; daughters Gwendolyn Ann Howard and Linda Carol Johnston, all of Huntersville; grandchildren Connie Dianne Johnston, Nathan Lloyd Johnston and Janet Ann Johnston Craig and great-grandchildren Annabella, Aaron and Simone.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday November 10 at First Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
