Otho Leon West,'s Obituary
Otho Leon West, Jr., 83, of Charlotte, NC passed away on September 21, 2015. He was born on December 14, 1931 in Dunn, NC to the late Otho Leon West, Sr. and Mattie Lee Cook West. Otho was married to the love of his life for 59 years, Jewell Jackson West.
He is survived by his wife Jewell; son, Otho West III; daughters, Lynette Gulledge (Edward), Vanessa Summerville (Joel), Rene’ Clippard (Donnie) and Elicia Grady (Ryan); grandchildren, Travis Gulledge, Drew Gulledge, Courtney Summerville, Chase Clippard, Danielle Clippard, Brooke Grady, Lauren Grady, and Gabriel Grady; great grandchildren, Haiden Gulledge and Harley Gulledge.
Otho was preceded in death by his siblings, Handy West and Ruth West Bryant both of Dunn, NC, and Doug West of Martinsville, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, 1601 Toddville Road, Charlotte, NC 28214. Visitation will be prior at 11:00 am in the church fellowship hall. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mt. Holly, NC.
Memorial contributions may be made to Durham Memorial Baptist Church, Disabled Veterans, or Hospice of Charlotte.
