Otis "Don" Hudson,'s Obituary
Otis Donald “Don” Hudson, Sr., 90, of Charlotte, entered into eternal rest in heaven on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
A native of Greer, SC, he was born on June 21, 1928 the son of Fred Earl Hudson and Mattie Sue White.
Don graduated from Charlotte Tech High and served as president of his senior class. He also attended Charlotte College for two years. A United States Navy veteran, he served stationed at Commander Submarine Force, Pacific at Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii. Over his long life, he was active in sports; especially softball. He served with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Life Saving Crew, NAPA Old Timers, and a 54-year member of the American Legion Post 262. Don retired from NAPA after 54 years of service.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Carol Ann Michael (Gil), Frances Marion Perdue (Michael), Judith Elaine Dalton (Michael), and special adopted in his heart, Noi Wong (Den). He had three granddaughters; Jessica, Charlene, and Amee, and four great-grandchildren; David, Amber, Hannah, and Hudson.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Otis Donald Hudson, Jr., mother and father, sisters; Grace, Margaret, and Katherine Ann; and brothers, Fred Edward and Warren Earl.
A service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don’s memory to the American Legion Post 262, 1940 Donald Ross Rd, Charlotte, NC 28208.
