Pansy Hinson's Obituary
Pansy Mae Owenby Hinson, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025. She was just a few weeks shy of her 96th birthday.
Pansy was born in Marion, NC on July 31, 1929. She moved to Charlotte after her graduation from high school, where she met her future husband, Frank Hinson. They were married on July 31, 1949.
Pansy was predeceased by her husband and a daughter, Carole Lynn Hinson Martin.
She is survived by her remaining children, Francis C. Hinson, Jr. (Lisa), Ramon Christopher Hinson (Dawn), Robert M. Hinson (Marty) and Deborah Hinson Lawing (Harry, deceased), as well as Lynn’s son, Squire Arcie Martin, Jr., who she and Frank raised. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
Pansy was a homemaker, and she was well known for her cooking without recipes, as well as for her canning and pickling expertise. She had recipes published in many cookbooks and national magazine publications.
A private family graveside service will be held at Charlotte Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
