Patricia Holtzclaw's Obituary
Patricia Foust Holtzclaw (Pat), 71 of Salisbury NC died March 19, 2025. She was born on April 11, 1953, in Siler City, NC to the late Richard and Marzell Foust.
Pat retired in 2022 as manager of New Bern KOA campground after suffering a stroke in November of 2021. Many personal connections made during her and her husband Larry 18+ years' work for KOAs in North Carolina under the ownership of the Tomaselli Family. She began her career with KOA Wilmington, later the couple were selected to open and run the new Smithfield KOA an award-winning campground. Pat and Larry moved to New Bern KOA Holiday in 2006 as managers while continuing to manage Smithfield KOA. New Bern KOA under her leadership received the highest honor of KOA Campground of the year in 2019. She was marked by excellence in guest service, a passion for creating family fun and connecting with campers and staff to elevate everyday moments.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Larry Holtzclaw in 2014. Survivors include her sons, Mark Holtzclaw (Denise)of Mt. Holly and Scooter Holtzclaw (Sherri) of Surfside Beach, SC; daughter, Debbie Fulghum (Jack)of Salisbury; brothers, David Foust(Patty)and Mike Foust (Tina); 5 Grandchildren -Krista Locklear, Kacy Willig, Kelli Holtzclaw, Ryan Holtzclaw, Kevin Poole and 4 Great-grandsons- Greyson, Sawyer, Colt and Reid Willig, nieces Candace, Jessica, nephew Cameron, 2 Great-nieces and 2 Great-nephews as well.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The KOA Care Camps. Helping to raise funds to send a cancer-stricken child to camp for a week. It has been a passion of hers while working with KOA Campgrounds for many years.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 24 at 1:00 PM at Nazareth Community Church 856 Crescent Road, Rockwell, NC Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 prior. Burial will immediately follow at Independence Hill Baptist Church 10220 Independence Hill Rd Huntersville.
