Patricia "Pat" Piedmonte's Obituary
Patricia “Pat” Piedmonte, 93, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 18, 1931, in Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Givens) Plackett. Pat spent her early years in Lakeland, N.Y. before her family relocated to Greenbelt, Maryland in 1935. Summers in Lakeland with her grandparents remained a cherished memory throughout her life.
Pat married Robert “Bob” Piedmonte in 1951, returning to Lakeland to raise their four children Judy, Jim, Jeff and John. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, and a commitment to service. Pat and Bob were a true team—raising their children by example and with unwavering love and instilling in them the importance of community, hard work, and faith. Whether volunteering at church fall festivals, working pancake breakfasts, spaghetti dinners, or helping at the State Fair’s fire stand, Pat was always present, always giving.
Pat worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Theisen Winnebago Dealership in Lakeland and later as a travel agent with Advantage Travel, a role that perfectly suited her adventurous spirit. She traveled extensively, cruising to nearly every island in the Caribbean and visited Central America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.
A devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Church, Pat actively participated in religious education, the Holy Rosary Society, and the Couples Club. Through the Couple Club a close bond was formed amongst friends for frequently house parties and trips. Always involved in her children’s lives she was a Girl Scout leader, a PTA officer, a trip chaperone or available whenever needed. She also gave her time generously to the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, eventually serving as secretary on the Lakeside Fire District Board of Directors. In 2002, Pat relocated to Huntersville to support her grandson, David, where she became active at St. Mark Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister, rosary groups and adoration group. She also participation in various activities such as the Red Hat’s Society and senior citizen groups.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob; her parents; her siblings Robert Plackett, Margaret Maruszewski, James Plackett, Richard Plackett; and her grandson, John Henry Pfriemer.
She is survived by her children: Judy (Hank) Pfriemer of Jonesboro, AR; Jim (Joan) Piedmonte of Southport, NC; Jeff (Karen) Piedmonte of Lakeland; and John (Tammy) Piedmonte of Huntersville, NC. She was the proud grandmother of Bill Pfriemer; Vanessa (Alan) Roedel and daughters, Gwenivere and Vivian; Jeffrey (Aimee) Pfriemer and sons, John Henry and Robert; Patrick “P.J.” (Michelle) Pfriemer and children, George and Evelyn; Bob (Amy) Piedmonte and sons, James and Jacob; Sara Piedmonte; Jennifer Piedmonte and children, Rylee, Reis, Kaelyn, and Josie; Rebecca (Stephen Burt) Carducci and children, Allie, Robbie, and Thomas; Bryan Piedmonte and son, Ezri; Amanda (Andy) Van Hoogmoed and sons, Ford and Levi; Nicholas (Kathryn) Palmerston and children Emily and Adam; Mary Isabella “Izzy” Piedmonte; Johnny (Allie) Piedmonte and daughter, Andie; and David Piedmonte. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Pat will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her tireless volunteerism, her adventurous heart, and her deep faith. Her legacy of love and service will live on through the many lives she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, Huntersville, N.C. on August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be prior, at the church from 10:00 to 10:45.
The family will gather for a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church on September 6th at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at the church prior from 9:30 to 10:45.
The interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department, honoring Pat’s lifelong dedication to community service.
