Patricia Jeanes "Pat" Snyder's Obituary
Patricia Jeanes “Pat” Snyder, 81, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1944, in McKinney, Texas, the daughter of the late William H. Jeanes and Kathleen S. Jeanes.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Charles W. “Chuck” Snyder, Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
Pat is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. Snyder III and Linda of Huntersville, her two wonderful grandchildren, her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, and many cousins and dear friends.
Growing up in Columbia South Carolina, Pat loved taking trips to Myrtle Beach with her friends, dancing, and enjoying live music. After graduating from Winthrop College in 1966, she later did Master’s level work in Educational Research at The University of South Carolina, and was a lifelong fan of USC football. Go Gamecocks! She worked as an English teacher in Columbia South Carolina for several years before starting work as an office manager at a steel fabrication company where she spent most of her professional life. The company moved Pat and her family to the Memphis, Tennessee area in 1983 where Pat continued her role as office manager and made many good friends in Germantown, Cordova and Olive Branch. After retiring in 2011 she did volunteer work at a local hospital and enjoyed spending time with friends. Pat and Chuck moved to North Carolina in 2017 to be closer to their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. There Pat was able to reconnect with old friends and made many new friends in Cornelius and Charlotte. In 2022, Pat and Chuck moved into a 55+ community and Pat was grateful for all the good friends she made there, especially, after Chuck passed away later that year. In the past few years, Pat has enjoyed being involved with many recreational activities with her friends in her community, and spending time with her family. She continued to take pleasure in life’s simple joys—fried shrimp, chocolate, and a good glass of wine. Over the years she also enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, watching sports, decorating, and she lovingly cared for many canine companions. Pat was known for her friendly nature and her ability to make friends wherever she went. She had a dry sense of humor that those close to her cherished. Above all else, she deeply loved her husband and family and will be truly missed by all of the people close to her.
