Patricia Barr Vanhoy's Obituary
Patricia “Trish” Barr Vanhoy, 70, of Iron Station, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
Trish was born December 15, 1952 in Mecklenburg County to the late Torrence Lloyd Barr and Patsy Gibson Stephens. She retired from the automotive industry several years ago and had been enjoying her retirement with her family and friends. Her happy place was the beach, she went often with her family. She had two boys, Chuck and Randall that she absolutely adored. If Trish was smiling it was because she was talking about them, and she smiled a lot. She was a loving and caring person, always helping family and friends. She would cook, clean, help move-it didn’t matter, she was there to help. She truly was a beautiful soul with a huge heart. She enjoyed collecting angels and spending time with her fur babies; Krissie, Slipper, and Sophie.
Mrs. Vanhoy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joel Vanhoy, her daughter, Beth and companion Elbert Harmon, her brother, Steve Barr, and sister, Jane Richardson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles “Chuck” Rodden and wife, Chris of Charlotte, Randall Richardson and wife, Stacey of Belmont, grandson, Dakota Richardson, granddaughter, Zoe Richardson, sister, Stephanie Foster and husband, Craig of Ferguson, NC, brother, Dale Barr of Gastonia, NC, special aunt, Louise Shaver and husband, Neal of Waxhaw, NC, special niece, Wendy Richardson and husband, Buck of Pageland, SC, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that she held near and dear to her heart.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at James Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. A catered reception will follow in the James Funeral Home Community Room.
