Patrick Lee Jones' Obituary
Patrick Lee Jones, 76, of Concord NC, passed away from complications of stroke on Monday, May 9.
Patrick was born May 26, 1945, in Joliet IL to Dorothy Ida (Mosier) and Pleasant Marshall Jones. He grew up in the Lockport IL/Hammond IN area and graduated from Lockport High School in 1963. Pat served in the United States Army 1963-1966, where he earned a Marksman Award and a National Defense Service Medal. He was trained as communications lineman, which positioned him for a career in the telecommunications industry. After his service, he worked at BellSouth (now AT&T South) for over 30 years before retiring. Affectionately known as “Garage Guy” by friends and neighbors, Pat enjoyed puttering around and watching sports in his garage with friends, especially the Atlanta Braves baseball team.
Patrick is survived by his twin sister, Patricia Dee of Grand Haven, MI; sisters Peggy Louise (Richard) Voitik of Highlands, TX and Dorothy Marlene (Lester) Hank of Kingswood, TX; and nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Donna (Shrader) Jones; and his brother, Marshall Glenn Jones.
