Patsy Marie Clark Kovacs' Obituary
Patsy Marie Clark was born in Tennessee, grew up during WWII in a close-knit DuPont manufacturing community, and was raised in Old Hickory Baptist Church. She was a proud 1959 graduate of DuPont High School where she played basketball and went to many class reunions.
Patsy studied education at Tennessee Technological University, graduating in 1963. She taught third grade in Nashville public schools, and worked at Girl Scout Camp Apasus in Norfolk, Virginia, for several summers.
In 1970, she married Dr. Kenneth Kovacs, a dentist at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. They moved to Pickerington, Ohio, where they raised their family and worked at his dental practice. She was an active parent who documented her children’s activities in volumes of scrapbooks. She was an avid golfer and bowler who loved to knit, bake, and host card parties. She was a member of Reynoldsburg Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ken in 2015, and was his mother Florence's loving caregiver until her death at age 100 in 2018. In 2019, Patsy moved to North Carolina where she attended church, learned to play cornhole, went to her grandchildren’s activities, and celebrated her 80th birthday and holidays with her family. She resided at TerraBella Lake Norman, and later, Aldersgate United Methodist Retirement Community, and the family wishes to thank the staff at both for their compassionate care.
