Patty Sossamon's Obituary
Patty Martin Sossamon, 74, of Cornelius, NC passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Huntersville Oaks.
She was born on August 16, 1940 in Mooresville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Hazel Davis Martin. Patty and Jerry were long time square dancers. She was an avid Tar Heel and Dean Smith fan. Patty was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jerry Lee Sossamon, Sr. of Cornelius; a daughter, Suzie Sossamon Inman and husband Kenny of Cornelius; a son, Jerry “Lee” Sossamon, Jr and wife Stephanie of Cornelius; five grandchildren, Jessica Inman Johnson and husband Chris of Cornelius, Kelsey Inman Fox and husband Andrew of Cornelius, Maya, Levi and Alina Sossamon of Cornelius. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Denise Sossamon.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Jill Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
