Paul T. Sims Sr.'s Obituary
Paul Thurman Sims, Sr. born on February 16, 1936, passed peacefully at the age of 87 on August 26, 2023, under the care of Via Health Partners-Hospice Care at Glenwood/The Citadel of Mooresville.
Paul was predeceased by his wife, Carol; his parents Thurman and Lottie Sims; his brothers Dalton Sims (Evelyn) and Pete Sims (Sybil); his sisters Doris Overcash (Buck), Bell Canipe (Pete), Polly Nye, and Pat Motley (Joe). He is survived by brother-in-law Phil Nye; son, Paul Sims Jr. and daughter, Cindy Thrower (Mark) and his grandchildren, Matt Thrower, Lexi Sims Martin (Mike), and his great grandchildren, Walker & Miller Mae Martin.
Paul graduated from North Mecklenburg High School and earned a Business Management Degree at King’s College. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Bumgarner. They were life-long members of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC (Derita area). Paul loved the Lord and his family. He served many committees at Cole, just to name a few: Treasurer, Board of Trustees. He was a Gideon. He served in the National Guard. Paul was a fastener salesman and entrepreneur of the southeast and retired at the age of 79.

A Graveside funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday, September 1 at Ramah Presbyterian Church. Rev. Rick Felts will officiate. (If able, please park at church across the street and walk over to the cemetery) Please wear casual attire.
