Paul Smyre's Obituary
Paul Sigmon Smyre, Jr., 78, of Maiden, went home to be with Jesus on June 26, 2022 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 8, 1944 in Guilford County to the late Paul and Daisy Smyre, Sr. After graduating from Garinger High School in Charlotte, NC. Paul married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Reita Ann Everhardt. During their 57 years of marriage, they were blessed with three caring daughters: Maria, Nita and Melinda.
Paul was a charter member of Lake Norman Lutheran Church and for all his life attended church whether in person or most recently online as well as held numerous leadership positions.
Paul also was a very hard working traveling salesman supporting the family business, and loved driving his classic cars on the weekends.
Paul was blessed with his beautiful wife Reita Smyre; daughters, Maria Greene and husband Don of Stanley, Nita Nardone and husband Mark of Leland and Melinda Bennett-Urban and husband Scott of Denver; brothers, Walter "Bucky" Smyre, Johnny Smyre; and grandchildren, Julia, Matthew and Bailey, Cara, Kelsy and fiancé Zach, and Jessica.

Family will be receiving friends on July 1st at 10am at Lake Norman Lutheran Church, followed by a celebration of life at 11am. Family and friends are welcome to join us at Forest Lawn Cemetery immediately following service at 2858 NC-150 Lincolnton, NC 28092.
