Peggy K. McConnell's Obituary
Peggy Knox McConnell, 88, of Mooresville died February 27 at her home. She was born in Mecklenburg County on March 22, 1928 to Moffit and Jennie Knox. A successful business woman, Peggy was co-owner of the Needlecraft Center in Davidson for over 20 years. Peggy graduated from UNC Greensboro and was a former home economics teacher. She loved the outdoors and had a special love of flowers and gardening. She enjoyed volunteering with the knitting ministry and card ministry at Bethel Presbyterian. For many years she shared monthly lunches with a close group of friends who all enjoyed cooking, sharing recipes and competing with “Southern Living” as successful cooks.
Survivors include her son Stephen McConnell of Mooresville; daughters, Dianne McConnell (Richard Gillespie) of Pfafftown, NC and Debbie Edwards (Dana) of Mt. Ulla, NC; sister Mary Lauer; and grandchildren, Brandon, Connor and Anna. Her husband Murray and siblings, Betty and R.B. preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 2 at Bethel Presbyterian Church with visitation to follow in the family life center. Burial will be private prior to the service in the church cemetery.
