Phillip Duane Carriker's Obituary
Phillip Duane Carriker, 57, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2016. Phillip was born in Wingate, NC on May 2, 1959, to Patsy Bass Carriker and the late Duane Carriker.
In addition to his mother, Phillip is survived by his children, Salem Louisa and Adam Phillip, his fiancée, Liliana Peña Paz, his siblings; Michelle Haigler (Ronnie), Victor Carriker (David Elliot), Monica Carriker, Penny Kiker (Brian), Jeremy Carriker (Marie), Jenny Carriker Graham, and DeAnna Carriker Rorie, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Phillip graduated from Wingate University (AA-Music), UNC-Chapel Hill (BA-Economics), UNC-Charlotte (MBA) and was a PhD Candidate at University of Phoenix. Phillip, a loving father and compassionate person, was a member of the Queen City Center for Spiritual Living where he played keyboard in the band. He was a lifelong learner and talented musician who loved traveling, dancing, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He is remembered by all for having a bright, happy personality and a constant smile.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 6:30pm followed by a service to celebrate his life at 7pm on Tuesday, June 21 in the Family Life Center at Benton's Cross Roads Baptist Church in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
