Randy Maccaferri's Obituary
Randy Maccaferri, 56, of Huntersville, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. Born in Puerto Rico on September 16, 1969, he was the son of Don and Sandra Maccaferri.
In addition to his parents, Randy is survived by his sons, Ryan Maccaferri and Brad Maccaferri; their mother, Lisa Maccaferri; his sister, Stacy Murphy; and his beloved canine companions, Teddy and Winnie.
Randy was a passionate sports fan who loved both watching and playing a wide variety of sports. He was a devoted supporter of the Carolina Panthers and NC State athletics. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in sailing, football, and lacrosse.
An avid reader, Randy could often be found immersed in a good book. He also loved sailing, traveling, visiting the beach, spending time on the water, and enjoying the outdoors. Known for his skill at the grill, Randy especially treasured gathering with family and friends. He also had a deep love for animals and greatly cherished the companionship of his dogs.
Randy earned his undergraduate degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and later received his master’s degree from North Carolina State University.
Above all, Randy will be remembered as a dependable and kind-hearted man whose steady presence brought comfort to those around him. He valued family, friendship, and the simple joys of life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM at James Funeral Home of Huntersville. Visitation with the family will follow from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. In honor of Randy’s love for the Carolina Panthers, the family kindly asks guests to wear Panthers gear or Panthers colors.
