Ray Jolley's Obituary
Ray Jolley passed away July 20th at his home in Cornelius, N.C. at the age of 77. He battled Parkinson’s for 9 years with grace and dignity.
Ray Jolley was born October 16, 1938 in Troutman, NC to Perry and Leona Jolley. He grew up in Taylorsville, NC where he learned to hunt, fish and race cars. He moved to Dallas, TX in 1958 taking a job with Marriott International where he traveled extensively and resided in Virginia, Florida, Maryland and California. He retired early at age 51 in 1990 as a Senior Executive Vice-President, and returned to his roots in NC.
In retirement, Ray and wife Helga liked to travel, were very involved in club activities, playing golf and enjoyed the fellowship of friends and family. It has been a life well lived, with many accomplishments. Ray’s wit, charm and sense of humor will be missed by many.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Estelle Echerd, Cecil Crouch and Ellen Elder.
Ray is survived by his wife Helga, sister Ethel Logan, daughters Kim Dunaway (Bob Jordan) and Brenda Frye (Bill Frye), grandchildren David, Chris and Michelle Dunaway, as well as 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 23 at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Vern Dodd officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 prior in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
