Ray Morrison Lefler's Obituary
Ray Morrison Lefler, 81, of Huntersville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 10, 2017.
Ray was a member of First Baptist Church Huntersville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He was retired from Western Electric/AT&T with 45 years of service. Ray enjoyed golfing, sky diving, hunting, refinishing antique furniture, and most of all spending time with his family at the beach. An avid sports fan, he rooted for the Carolina Tarheels, NY Yankees, and the Carolina Panthers. Ray donated countless gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Cora Lefler, brothers; Bill Lefler and Floyd Craver.
Mr. Lefler is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joy “Joyce” Lefler of the home, son, Mike Lefler and wife, Kelley, granddaughters; Michaela and Shannon Lefler all of Cornelius, and his dog, Zoe.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. with funeral services starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at First Baptist Church Huntersville. Committal services will follow in the church cemetery.
