Rebecca Beal Mauney's Obituary
Rebecca “Becky” Beal Mauney, 81, Charlotte, NC, formerly of Gastonia journeyed to her heavenly home supported by the caring staff at Levine Dickson Hospice House. Becky was born in Catawba County, NC the youngest of nine children of the late Joe and Bertie Bost Beal. She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Mauney and husband, Eddie Mauney. Survivors include brother Reverend Lander Beal (Cynthia) of Huntington, WVA and sister in law, Ethel Mauney of Gastonia, NC.
Becky retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital with 22 years of service. She treasured being a foster parent; loved the beach enjoying camping, traveling and “piddling.”
We remember Becky’s beautiful big smile, positive outlook on all life’s circumstances and love for the beach! She bravely fought her cancer battle with special caregiver “angels,” nieces Gayle Dixon, Janet Smith, Dawn Isley. Becky was blessed with warm support of Spirit Sisters, Faithkeepers and Pastor Gail Werstlein at University City United Methodist Church. Her family appreciates the Christian love shown by the UCUMC family and the compassionate care provided by Dr. Timothy Kuo and staff at Lake Norman Hematology and Oncology.

A private graveside service will be 4:00 PM, Tuesday, July 17th at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC. A life celebration service for Becky will be held 2:30 PM in the Chapel at UCUMC on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
