Rebecca "Becky" Mittelman's Obituary
Mrs. Rebeccah (Becky) Champe Mittelman, 80, of Newton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Becky took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is known for her strong faith and feisty spirit, which enabled her to battle a diagnosis of chronic leukemia for 12 years. Becky was considered an inspiration by many and was known for her kindness, her love for cooking/baking, and spreading joy everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Helen Champe, and husband, Mike Mittelman, the love of her life.
Becky was a native of Charleston, WV. Upon her marriage to Mike Mittelman, Becky moved to several cities in NC, including Albemarle, Davidson, and Newton. She is survived by her children; Michael Mittelman, Jr. (Amy) of Lawndale, NC, and Holly Mittelman Jayne of Mooresville, NC, grandchildren; Thomas Mittelman (Sierra), Anna Mittelman, Megan Sutten (Kane), Nicole Ferrell (Caleb), Ryan Jayne, greatgrandchildren; Kennedy, Carolyn, Brayden, Chandler, Joseph, Jace, Jaxson, sister; Libby Champe Simmons.
Services will be held on Monday, April 20th at Davidson United Methodist Church, Davidson, NC. The family will receive friends starting at 12:30 p.m. The funeral will begin at 2:00 pm with graveside services to follow.
