Rebecca Blackmon's Obituary
Norma Rebecca Blackmon, 76, of Huntersville, died peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021 with her loving husband by her side. She was born on March 11, 1945, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to the late Elam and Norma Robinson.
Rebecca was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and received her degree in Education at Winthrop College. Rebecca taught school for 30 years. Two years were at Virginia Beach and 28 years with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. She taught 1st grade through 6th grade during her career. She was an avid quilter and her favorite place was the family beach house on Holden Beach NC. She enjoyed cooking, painting, reading and was a great spades player. Her favorite foods, any kind of seafood and anything her husband cooked!
Rebecca was predeceased by her parents Norma and Elam Robinson.
Rebecca is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard “Dick” Blackmon; sons, Mike Blackmon, his wife Patricia and David Robinson Blackmon. Rebecca had 3 granddaughters, Hailey, Amanda and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by Martha Robinson, her sister and John Robinson, her brother.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2:00 pm at James Funeral Home. in Huntersville. The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at 1:00 pm.
