Rebecca Jean Sisco's Obituary
Rebecca “Becky” Jean Sisco passed away on her 27th Birthday, May 21, 2013 at her residence in Mooresville with her parents by her side.
Becky is survived by her parents, Grace and Jim Sisco of Mooresville, Grandmother Margaret Sisco, Cocoa, Florida; eight Aunts and Uncles, eight cousins; and her best friend, Courtney from Utah. Becky also had many friends on-line and was connected to other young people with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) throughout the United States. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Jean Adams and James C. Sisco Sr.
Becky was born in SLC Utah and attended Canyon View Elementary before moving to Mooresville. She graduated from Lake Norman High School in 2004, received the Girl Scout Gold Award, was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, carried the Olympic torch for the SLC Winter Games in 2002 and traveled the USA visiting 47 states. She attended Catawba Valley and Mitchell Community Colleges and was a graduate of NC Partners in Policymaking and used her skills to meet with both state and national legislators.
Thank you dear Becky for inspiring many and teaching us what is really important: that life is all about relationships and the best gifts DO come in small packages. The family wishes to thank the many nurses/attendants who assisted with Becky’s care through the years and the staff of Lake Norman Hospice.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Fair View United Methodist Church in Mt Mourne. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service (12-1) in the Church Fellowship Hall
