Rebecca Stroupe Pitts' Obituary
Rebecca (Becky) Stroupe Pitts, 79, of Charlotte died December 24, 2023.
Becky was born March 13, 1944 In Charlotte, North Carolina to Joseph and Edna Stroupe. She was married to Noah Andrew Pitts who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Stroupe and a brother, Jerry Stroupe. She is survived by nephews, Butch and Steve Darnell, Brian, Jeff and Tim Stroupe and a niece, Teresa Leal. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
She graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte and Wingate Business College in Wingate, North Carolina.
She began her career as a guide while still in high for NCNB Bank. Forty years later, she retired as the Chief Protocol Officer for Etiquette with Nations Bank. After her retirement, she continued to teach etiquette throughout Charlotte and outlying areas. She loved going to The Greenbrier every Christmas where she would have tea parties for the children.
Becky was a member of Charlotte Country Club for over 40 years.
Nothing pleased Becky more than entertaining friends and family. She loved feeding the birds in her beautiful yard and always had fresh flowers in her home. Children always loved going to Becky's because they knew they were in for " a treat".
Becky was a devout Christian her entire life and spent many hours spreading God's word to others. She attended Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, Woodland Presbyterian.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, January 2 at James Funeral Home with burial following at Pleasant Grove U.M.C. Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 AM prior at James Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s in her name.
