During the past year, my friend and I who are Eucharist ministers at St. Mark Catholic Church have been bringing Holy Communion to Regina on Tuesdays. She was not only special but such a joy to know and spend time with during the past year. She had a great love for the Lord and her faith. Also, Regina always was happy to receive the Eucharist. She was very thankful recently when we gave her a Holy card that had touched all the sacred places during our St. Mark Church trip in November to the Holy Land.
When she could not join us in the gathering room with the other Catholic residents, we would go to her room and talk and pray with her before Communion. We loved visiting her beautiful room and hearing her telling us all about her family, keepsakes, and pictures on display. One day recently, we were looking out her window in her room, and we noticed how she had such a beautiful view of St. Mark Church and how close it seemed. I remember she commented: "But, what good is the closeness, because I cannot go or even walk there"! Regina, you will always hold a special place in our hearts and prayers.
May Regina rest in peace. Jesus we trust in You!
