Reginald "Sonny" Brown's Obituary
Reginald Clark Brown “Sonny”, 67 of Cornelius, died December 28, 2014 at Novant Medical Center, Charlotte surrounded by his family. He was born in Winston Salem, NC on June 6, 1947 to the late Bueina Conner Brown and Woodrow Wilson Brown. In addition to his parents, his brothers Victor Nelson Brown and Billy Wilson Brown preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife Glenda Johnston Brown; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Bill Thomas of Huntersville, NC; nephew, Colby Thomas and wife Lisa of Charlotte, NC, niece, Shannon Thomas of San Francisco, nephew, Jeff Brown and wife Tiffany of Germantown, Tennessee, nephew, Erik Brown of Charlotte NC, great nephew, Miles Beckham of San Francisco, great niece, Ryenn Thomas of Charlotte, NC, great niece, Ashton Fakih of Charlotte, NC and beloved cats Iris and Magnolia.
He worked for the City of Charlotte for 30 years as Information Technology Data Center Supervisor. Sonny loved shag music and shag dance and fellowship with those friends at North Myrtle Beach. He served as the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs secretary for ten years and received the distinguished "ICON" award for his work to preserve the "Shag Dance." He was a member of Lake Norman Shag Club where he served as president and treasurer. Sonny also loved classic cars and traveling with friends. He was a member of Mulberry Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, taught Junior High Sunday School and served on numerous committees over the years. Sonny was a sensitive person who had a big heart. He was loved by all who knew him.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the physicians,nurses and CNA's at Novant Hospice in Charlotte as well as Dr. Jimmy Adcock, Dr. Steven Josephson and Dr. Justin Favaro.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, January 24 at Mulberry Presbyterian Church with Rev. Arvin Tenbrink officiating. A reception will follow in the Stokes Fellowship Hall.
