Renee Frizzell's Obituary
Renee Jeannine Frizzell of Cornelius, NC and formerly of Zephyr Cove, NV passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2018 in Cornelius, NC. She was 63.
Renee was born at Ft. Meade, MD on September, 2 1954. She was the only daughter of the late Harry Putman Frizzell and Mary Jeannine Frizzell.
Her father served in the U.S. Army for over thirty years so she attended numerous schools while growing up. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA in 1972. She was her Senior Class President and the winner of the MVHS Beauty Pageant. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with honors with a degree in Journalism in 1976. Renee was a devoted fan to the University of Oklahoma football program. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
After college, she worked in the hospitality services business for many years in South Lake Tahoe, NV and the surrounding area before relocating to Cornelius, NC. She was passionately attached and extremely proud of her arts and crafts skills which she demonstrated by spending countless hours designing and creating unique wreaths made from discarded corks, pinecones and other materials. Renee was a kindhearted, loving and caring person. She loved dogs, especially her companion, Marshall who was with her in the final hours and until the very end.
In addition to her parents, Renee was predeceased by her brother Lyndall B. Frizzell (1988). She is survived by her step-mother, Carmen D. Frizzell of South Hill, VA; brothers, Russell J. Frizzell and his wife Nancy of Brandon, FL, Harry Patrick Frizzell of Cornelius, NC; stepsister Becky Woo and her husband, Billy of Los Angeles, CA; two nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. She will be greatly missed by all.
A service to celebrate Renee’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the Chapel of James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
