Jackie, I want you to know that I so appreciate you for taking care of Rich as his health deteriorated the last few years. I know this was not easy for you at times and I always felt comfort in knowing that you were there for him. Thanks so much – you are an angel!

I’m so sorry to hear of Rich’s passing. Of course, I knew his health was not good, but still when the end came, it was shocking. Especially for someone I’ve known and been close to for most of my life. Richie was a truly amazing guy. He was the best athlete, had the best personality and was the funniest of the all the guys I knew. He was damn smart too – had a very clever, quick wit, always on top off what was going on. I probably didn’t know him so well in high school – I was more of a fan – but after high school, and especially in the summer, we became the best of friends: Hung out together, played ball together, drank together, laughed together, sang together and roused together! It was the best of times and now the best of memories! I’ll always cherish those times and the memories we all shared when we got together for annual mini-reunions.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jackie and the family. It is hard to believe Richie is no longer with us. We know he wasn't himself for some time, but life is strange, at a time like this we remember how he was years ago. We naturally slip back to those high school years, he was always able to make everyone laugh. He really never changed with his friends, our mini reunions reminds us how funny he could be. He was a good friend and he will be missed by all of us.

We always think of things to say when our loved ones and friends leave us but we never did. How doesone comment on 65 years of memories Rich Maureau gave me in my life.

Connie and I would like to extend our condolences to Jackie and the rest of their family. I've know Rich since the early 50's from our summer days spent at the North Miami Youth Center. The Youth Center was for he and his many friends, their home away from home. A place for friends to meet, laugh, and compete. It was here that his athletic talents and fun-going personality were first noticed. His accomplishments as a basketball player have been well noted and documented, however, it's also been noted, he was a multifaceted person, not the least for those close to him, a good and lasting friend.
Any memories we might have of those times have to include Rich. Bon voyage Rich and ...well done.
I was so sad to learn of Richie's death. My sincere condolences to the Maureau family. Richie was a hero of mine in high school. His athletic prowess on the basketball court, was thing to behold. I have so many fond memories of Richie as he was always to pleasant and friendly. I will cherish the memories of my friend as he passes into the afterlife.
I will miss Rich always. Our prayers go out to Jackie and the Family.
We grew up together through elementary school, junior high, high school, remained tight through our college years. Remained close during our young adult years while we raised families and continued our lives to seniors. Wherever my life leads me from this point on I will never forget you my brother. I love you.
