Richard Neal Reynolds,'s Obituary
Richard Neal Reynolds, Sr. 84, of Cornelius, North Carolina, passed away on March 12, 2015. He was born on February 9, 1931 in Charleston, Illinois to the late Charles William Reynolds and Mary Davis Reynolds.
Dick graduated with a Business degree from Eastern Illinois University in May of 1948. He met and fell in love with Marie Alfidi. They were married on November 26, 1955. They resided in in Southern Illinois and moved to North Carolina in 1989. They had just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2014. Dick’s greatest love was his family and spending time with them. He was extremely close to his children and adored his many grandchildren.
Throughout his life, he bought several unprofitable restaurants and turned them into successful establishments. He also accomplished this with several food service and commissary divisions of the corporations he worked for throughout his career. Dick was loved and respected by many of his employees and was considered a pioneer in the food industry by leading through example. He touched many lives through his personal development of the Summer Lunch Program that fed underprivileged children throughout North and South Carolina. Dick retired as a food industry executive in 2008.
Survivors include his wife Marie Alfidi Reynolds; Kathryn (Reynolds) Shidler (Dennis) of Mooresville, NC; Jan (Reynolds) Correll (Russell) of Ft. Mill, SC; Richard Neal Reynolds II, (Heather) of Deep Haven, MN; Marybeth (Reynolds) Eibl (Mark) of Cockeysville, MD. Dick had 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Dively, of Charleston, Illinois.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 8th at 10 o’clock a.m. at St. Gabriel
Catholic Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
A family memorial celebrating his life will be held at 4 o’clock p.m. on August 8th at the Reynolds home.
