Bob was always the go-to guy to resolve problems at work, with his ever-present calm demeanor. He was a real pleasure to work with.
My favorite memory of Bob was actually away from work. Once he came over to my cube and said he had a ‘challenge’ for me. It was to ride a bicycle with him after work. When I told him I didn’t own a bike, he said, that’s ok, I have an extra one. It turns out Bob had several bicycles, most of which he would fix up and repair for kids. I then started to ride again, and several times he would organize group rides, which I would join. During the next Memorial Day weekend, he and I drove to Virginia for a large organized ride in the mountains. I eventually purchased the bike from Bob, which I still have, some 23 years later. I’m grateful to Bob for ‘forcing’ me to start riding again.
My deepest condolences to Bob’s family.
