Robert Crater's Obituary
Robert Dewey Crater, 88, of Charlotte, died June 6, 2013 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. He was born on April 10, 1925 in Charlotte to the late Samuel and Blanche Crater. He served in the US Army, was a member of Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church and worked as a homebuilder, developing Crater Park.
Survivors include his daughter Bobbie Reid of Charlotte; granddaughter Wendy Leatherwood and husband Jon and great-grandchildren Ty and Alex.
Memorials may be made to Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4700 Beatties Ford Rd., Charlotte, NC 28216.
A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, June 8 at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Carol Hassell officiating. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the burial, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.
