Robert Franklin Isenhour's Obituary
Robert Franklin Isenhour, 89, of Cornelius, NC, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Lake Norman Regional Hospital.
He was born on November 8, 1923 in Bessemer City, NC. He was the son of the late Thomas “Frank” and Mary “Lizzie” Best Isenhour, and the husband of the late Mavis Singletary Isenhour. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II where he served with the 1st Division of the 16th Infantry at Normandy Beach during D-Day. He was a jeweler, watch maker and retired from the US Postal Service in Charlotte.
Survivors include three daughters, Joy Isenhour of Cornelius, Gay Griffin and husband Jim of Charlotte, and Robbie Isenhour of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Angela Griffin and husband Wes Hodgin, Katie Griffin and Anna Pannebaker and husband Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Helen Grace Hodgin and Laurel Elise Hodgin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Clyde and Gene Isenhour, and two sisters, Della Lipford and Edna Isenhour.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 2:00 PM at James Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Hobson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
