Roy will be remembered, mostly, for his kindness, which was unfaltering throughout his life. However, I would like to share my earliest memory of him. He was in high school, and I was a pre-teen. I went to see him play in a basketball game. I was in awe of him. He was a very impressive athlete, and continued to be for many years. His impact on his friends and family is immeasurable.
We didn't need to say it much because that was just part of us. The fact that I was able to update you on my latest work progress, and the pride in your eyes, was our love language. I love you Dad.

We almost made it to 57 years. Although you weren't into ODAs (obvious displays of affection), you have always been quite the romantic. One of my most favorite memories, among many, was the day I opened the car door on my way to work one morning and finding a single red silk rose lying on the driver's seat. Your last comprehensible words were, "I love you." And we have loved you.
