Robert Wiley Kiser's Obituary
Robert Wiley Kiser, 63, of Charlotte, NC passed away from heart complications Wednesday, April 22, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1962 to the late Walter Robert “Bobby” Kiser and Wylie Ann Gibson Kiser.
Robby was an extraordinarily generous man with a big heart and a remarkable memory. He loved Jesus and faithfully used his musical talents and many other gifts to serve the church. Known for his love of humor, he shared countless jokes, each one made better by his boisterous, unforgettable laugh. He was most often found with a guitar in hand, playing and singing country music. Robby was a wealth of knowledge—someone who could fix just about anything. A quick learner, he could master a skill after seeing it done just once. He was a gifted artist who found joy in fishing trips and going to the beach. He also enjoyed animals, history documentaries, and classic television shows.
By trade, he was a farmer, horse wrangler, business owner, and maintenance manager. Yet, by far, his most cherished titles were “Dad” and “Pawpaw.” Eager to create meaningful memories with those he loved, he rarely missed an opportunity to provide support — faithfully attending soccer games, baseball and basketball games, and dance recitals — cheering on his family both near and far. He wasn’t rich by the world’s standards—but there was no greater wealth than the way he loved people. He lived out what it means to love your neighbor—regardless of age, ethnicity, status, or background. He will be deeply, deeply missed, but his legacy—of love, presence, generosity, and faith - will live on. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Robby was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and brother: Jeff Kiser of Charlotte, NC. He is survived by his children: Robert “Dusty” Kiser (Meagan Ivanov) of Cedar Point, NC; Amber Dove (Jason Dove) of Huntersville, NC; Travis Kiser (Tracy Huber) of Cantonment, FL; and Michael “Mike” Stokely (Heather Tolentino) of West Hills, CA, whom he helped raise and loved as a son. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brinley and Carter Kiser; Daniel, Andrew, and Eliana “Ellie” Dove; and Peyton and Paige Kiser. He is further survived by his brother, John “Skip” Kiser (Wanita Miller) of Robertsdale, AL.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at James Funeral Home, 10520 Arahova Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM, at the same location. Following the funeral service, the graveside and burial will be held at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, 5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.
