Robert Lancaster's Obituary
Robert Roosevelt Lancaster, 81 of Huntersville died April 4 at his home. He was born in Rutherford County, NC to the late Zeno and Essie Lancaster on June 3, 1933. He retired as a traffic signal electrician supervisor for the City of Charlotte. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force (serving during the Korean Conflict). Robert was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #737 and American Legion #321.
Survivors include son Melvin Wayne Lancaster and wife Marcie of Lilburn, GA; daughter, Kelly Lancaster Hall and boyfriend Robert of Cleveland, NC; and 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. His wife Nancy and his daughter Rhyta preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday, April 7 at James Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 8 at Holly Hunter Baptist Church (4316 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd., Charlotte) with Rev. Tim Nichols officiating. The graveside service will be at 3 PM Wednesday at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery in Forest City.
