Robert Mangiafico's Obituary
Robert Joseph Mangiafico, 72, of Charlotte, went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 30, 2014.
He was the son of the late Joseph Mangiafico and the late Mildred Mangiafico, born in Massachusetts on April 26, 1942. After proudly representing his country as a United States Marine, he worked for Canteen Corporation for an astonishing 47 years until retiring in 2012 at the age of 70. Following his retirement, a garden was dedicated in his honor at his regional office in Charlotte, NC.
Bob was married to Leah Mary Witkowski Mangiafico on June 5, 1965. Bob and Leah have 4 children, Robert Mangiafico Jr, Michael Mangiafico, Marc Mangiafico, and Tina Mangiafico Ezzell. Bob has 10 grandchildren, aged 3 to 15.
Bob was a dedicated family man with a loud, boisterous laugh, a generous heart, and true Italian fire. He was always heavily involved in his children’s activities including a past role as President of East Hartford Little League and years of coaching youth football. Known to possess an incredible work ethic, he nonetheless was always available for his family frequently traveling large distances to never miss an event. Bob was also well known and highly respected at Canteen Corporation and in the vending industry where he spent his entire 47 year career. A man of faith, he touched many lives and led by example.
Bob is survived by his wife, Leah, of 49 years; three sons, Robert Jr, Michael (Jane) and Marc (Allison); one daughter, Tina Marie (John); ten grandchildren, Brendon, Michael Jr, Maya, Robert III, Skyler, Scout, Ever, Easton, Aven, & Cutter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to be sent to the American Cancer Society and/or The Hospice House of Huntersville, NC.
