Captain Robert Parry's Obituary
Captain Robert Palmer (Bob) Parry, 80, of Cornelius died November 25th at his home with his family at his side. He was born on November 11, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Robert and Katherine Parry. One of his greatest testaments was surviving the bombing of Pearl Harbor at one month old.
Bob was a wonderful caring husband, father and grandfather. An avid aviation enthusiast from the age of 3, he put himself thru aviation school, was a sharp shooter in the Marines and a self-made renaissance man who truly lived life to the fullest.
He spent over 60 years flying the skies all around the world, but also explored depths of the oceans, skin and scuba diving many of the world’s most beautiful sights.
His favorite past time in his retirement years was to lay in his hammock by the lake on his beach or soak in his hot tub. Up until the last few months you could catch him on his jet ski or pulling his grandkids on the tube.
Having met Deborah when she was 18, their friendship blossomed into many glorious and unique memories and adventures together over their 43 years of marriage. He will be truly missed.
Survivors include his wife Deborah Parry; daughter, Laura Parry-Bonnett of Cornelius; son, Glen Parry of Kelso, WA; sister, Veronica (Roni) Star of Australia; and grandchildren, Maddox, Kingston, Carter and Bodhi Bonnett.
A private graveside service with military honors was held at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
