Climbed Mount Adams and Mount Hood with Bob. Had many laughs. He truly was a unique, talented individual. A gentle man.
I spent a special night only once at Bob's place courtesy of a dear friend and musician of ilk, Kit Sluder. It was an evening of joy and melody, not only musically but also a shared delight in the atmosphere he created, welcoming and warm to me as a stranger embraced by his exuberance and celebration of life and light. That glow lives on in all who knew him and were touched by his presence. Marianne.
Prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends threw this time of need...

I am so very sad that this extraordinary, kind, eccentric, sweet, big booming giant of a man has left our world. I will always remember his joy and enthusiasm and ridiculously creative spirit in everything from engineering to music and food. My prayers to all those who were close to him, I know he leaves an enormous void. Love and peace. Theresa McDonald
OUR ROADS
Steve Sloop 2019
We both had our own roads to travel.
Roads that led to vastly different places.
Roads built on dreams.
Roads built on schemes.
Roads contemplated.
Roads meandering.
Roads that always led back home
And intersected frequently.
At these intersections we erected monuments.
Bob and myself didn't like the term "Best Friends".
The only fitting term is "True Friends"
My love goes out to his family.
MISS YOU MY BROTHER

I remember sitting with Bob in the vacant lot next to the Ransons' house watching the first meteor shower either of us had seen( in '65 or '66). At North Mecklenburg's 20th reunion, he pulled that recumbent bike out of the back of his van and had half a dozen of us riding it up and down in the parking garage. As I remember, he built that bike, welding the frame himself. A man of many talents. I know he will be sorely missed by those close to him.
Bob was one of my favorite regular customers at Smilin' Jim's. When he walked in, I couldn't help but smile. Too, too young. A FINE man. Heaven got another gem.

Bob will be very sadly missed on both sides of the Atlantic. I treasure our memories of his visit here in Scotland. We always got together when I was in the U.S. and am so happy that we had a chance to spend time with Bob at his home recently in July. Bob was a man of music. He was so creative and knowledgeable and I loved his guitar playing and singing. Over the years he was used to me saying "gimme a little Deep River Blues, Bob!" Now I will play this song for him as often as I can. Thank you Bob for your generous and joyful friendship. You were a precious gift in our lives. We loved you and will never forget you. RIP.
