Robert H. Willard's Obituary
Robert (“Bob”) H. Willard, 83, of Cornelius, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 in his home surrounded by family and friends.
Bob was a native North Carolinian born in Washington, North Carolina. He moved to the Charlotte metro area in the 1960s. Bob started his career as a radio broadcaster later working in advertising for The Charlotte Observer. After leaving The Observer, Bob started his own outdoor advertising agency, Horizon Outdoor, before “retiring” and forming his own real estate development company, Bravoe Development.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Edna (Hart) Willard, his brothers, Sylvester Lawrence (“S.L.”) and Hugh, and his daughters, Kim and Ester.
Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary (Weyenberg) Willard, his son, Shawn, his sister-in-law Alice (wife of S.L.), his sister-in-law Ann Marie (wife of Hugh), his brother Jack and his wife Macel, his brother Michael, his sister-in-law Victoria (Weyenberg) Badders and her husband Jack, his brother-in-law John Weyenberg and his wife Elaine, his brother-in-law Stephen Weyenberg and his wife Joli, and many loving nieces, nephews and caregivers.
No funeral services are planned at this time. Private services will be held at a later date.
